Ellie Jane Goulding was born in Hereford England on December 30 1986. Tracey Goulding Summers employed as a supermarket clerk. Arthur Goulding, the father of Ellie Jane Goulding worked as an undertaker. Goulding is born around the year 2000. Her sisters are, Isabel and Jordan. Her brother is Alex. Alex her younger brother plays his Bass. Alex also is part of a Hereford-based band. The mother of her child encouraged her to pursue musical pursuits as a kid. Her first instrument was the clarinet at the age of nine. At the age of 14, Goulding began writing lyrics. She wasn't committed to songwriting until she entered college. Goulding became attracted to electronic music during the time she studied. Through MySpace she made contact with record producer Frankmusik and with his assistance she developed her own style of folktronica music. She was found during this time by scout Jamie Lillywhite, who initially worked as her manager, before changing to a position as A.&R. in a college talent show. Lillywhite introduced her to the Music producer Starsmith. Starsmith helped in November 2009 with the publication of Under the Sheets, her debut single. Starsmith collaborated with the singer on Lights. She was signed to Polydor Records even though Under the Sheets was originally released on the label that was independent Neon Gold Records.
